CONGRESS OF CHIROPRACTIC STATE ASSOCIATIONS
The Congress of Chiropractic State Associations was formed in the late 1960Â’s and is a not-for-profit organization consisting of state chiropractic associations. The mission of the Congress is to provide an open, nonpartisan forum for the promotion and advancement of the chiropractic profession through service to member state associations.
The purpose of the Congress as stated in its Rules & Regulations is:
1. To form a coalition of official chiropractic state organizations.
2. To serve as a forum or clearing house to help solve mutual state problems on a non-partisan basis.
3. To cooperate with other organizations in the advancement of natural health and Chiropractic.
4. To assure that Chiropractic attains its rightful place in the healing arts.
5. To initiate, encourage, and support programs and projects for the advancement of the Chiropractic profession.
The Congress is governed by an eleven-member Board of Directors consisting of a President, Immediate Past President, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and one director from each of the five Congress districts. Board members are elected annually at the Congress convention, which is held in the fourth quarter of each year, usually on the first or second weekend in November. Officers are elected by and from the membership at large; district directors are elected by and from their respective districts.
Individuals who attend our annual meeting include volunteer leaders (such as the President, President-Elect, Past President, etc.) and staff members (primarily the Executive Director) of our state associations. As the host for the chiropractic professionÂ’s annual leadership conference, we also attract representatives from chiropracticÂ’s other national organizations. Virtually everyone who is anybody in chiropractic attends the Congress meeting.
